Lee Westwood said he was honoured and humbled by the OBE he received from the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
The English golfer, who spent five weeks as the world number one last year, now has his sights set firmly on picking up his first major victory - a quest that will start in April with the Masters.
"Hopefully I'll win it," he said.
"I think this year could be it. I'm certainly playingLeft Handed Ping G20 Irons
well enough and getting my game together.
"I've been working hard and putting in a lot of preparation, so hopefully all that will click into place."
The OBE was awarded to Westwood him in the New Year Honours List.
"It's amazing really. I can't quite believe it," he said.
"You don't imagine, when you start playing theLeft Handed Ping G20 Irons
you love, that you will end up receiving an award for it. It's amazing really."
Westwood added that he and the Queen shared a brief exchange related to his travels.
"The Queen spoke to me about travelling, where I've been recently and where I'm going.
"I'm sure I don't do as much travelling as she does though.
"I've played Left Handed Ping G20 Irons with Prince Andrew before, so perhaps the Queen has an interest - I would have preferred to speak to her about horseracing though, but I didn't have the chance."
